Please become a member or renew your membership for the upcoming year. Please ask your friends to visit the library, get a free library card and become a FRIEND too.

Our group helps the library by providing the extras that the city, county and state funds do not cover.

In 2010 these extras included: children’s programming, FAX, laminator, copier, and Internet access, printing, scanning and word processing/printing services. We also provided funds for library signs and new promotional brochures.

They also included: annual membership drive expenses; one American and one Texas flag:  and new tables and chairs for the computer lab.

In 2011 the Friends plan to support the library doing similar projects.

The FRIENDS wish to thank you, members of our Library community, most sincerely for your continued support. We invite you to attend the annual FRIENDS membership meeting and reception in the Library on the third Thursday in April from 5:30 till 7 PM.  This will also coincide with the VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD announced by our Director, Kathy Nixie. Good food and a library scavenger hunt are on the fun agenda you won’t want to miss.  

Book sale donations needed. We continue our used book and magazine sale tables. We need your continued donations of items to sell as well as your purchases throughout the year. Please tell your friends about the great bargains on these used items. Occasionally the sale includes jigsaw puzzles, CDs, children’s games, videos, DVDs, encyclopedia sets and other multi-volume titles.

Your contribution to the FRIENDS of the La Marque Public Library is tax-deductible; we are designated by the Internal Revenue Service as a publicly supported charitable foundation, according to Section 509 (a) (1) and 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi).
