La Marque Public Library
Videocassette/DVD Policy

Videos/DVDs check out to adults with a current adult County Library System borrower’s card containing a valid La Marque Library barcode.
Five (05) Video/DVD titles may be checked out at one time on an adult borrower’s card. A spouse may check out ten (10) Video/DVD titles at the same time by presenting both spouses’ borrower’s cards with the same address. Young adults and children (those under age 18) may not check out Videos/DVDs with their own or their parent’s library cards.

DVDs check out for a seven (7) day loan period. Videos check out for three (3) weeks. Renewals on Videos/DVDs are permitted, by phone or in person.

Videos/DVDs are checked out only at the front circulation desk, at the La Marque Library, while the Library is open to the public. All videos and DVDs must be returned to a staff member (not to a desk) to be considered returned.

A $5.00 fine is due for each Video/DVD left in the book-drop, even if returned on time. A $1.00 per day overdue fine is charged for each day a Video/DVD is overdue while the library is open to the public; a maximum fine of $10.00 per Video/DVD applies.

Friends and neighbors may not check out Videos/DVDs on another person’s valid current adult borrower’s card. Returns should be made by the adults checking out the Videos/DVDs; please do not return Videos/DVDs through your children, neighbor’s children, neighbors, etc. Others cannot answer questions we might have for the person who checked out a Video/DVD.
